In this review, we will summarize recent advances in the development of typical metal oxide materials (TiO2, Fe3O4/Fe2O3, MnO2, CeO2, MgO and Al2O3) and the related processes for the treatment of various water resources which have been contaminated by organic solutes, inorganic anions, radionuclides, bacteria and viruses.
