Abstract :
Drama is a very important and beautiful part of Sanskrit literature. Scholars have acknowledged its beauty and importance by saying that ‘drama is beautiful in poems’. Of the two major distinctions of poetry - audio and visual - drama or metaphor falls under the genre of visual poetry. Its development can be traced back to the Rigveda period in the Indian tradition. The oldest forms of dramatic literature are available in the dialogues of Sarma and Pani, Yama and Yami, Vishvamitra and Nadi, Pururva and Urvashi in the Rig Veda.
