Politics means many things to many people. To Plato it means the pursuit of truth. Aristotle Aquinas, Hobbes, Locke, Bentham, Marx, Hagel and others regard politics as the pursuit of good, though their concept of good differs from one another. According to Dahl politics is concerned with “authority, Ruling and power”, and David Easton regards it as the authoritative allocation of values” for a society. Again, while Lasswell defines politics as “who gets what, when and how” Dyke maintains that politics is concerned with the “management of conflicts” Besides while some regards politics as “the trade for rascals and the refuge of scoundrels”, others regards it as an “activity of saints.” Hannah Arendt is the first thinker in the history of Political through to interpret politics in terms of beauty.
